FAQ

What is Orphan Stories?
Orphan Stories is a start-up organization that focuses in helping children who are orphaned or from unfortunate families in Indonesia. We share their stories on this blog for everyone to read. We provide a space to donate for those who wish to do so and distribute the donations to them.

It looks like the donation that I’m about to make will go to a personal account under someone’s name, and not the organization name itself. Is it legit?
Unfortunately, due to the size of our organization, we do not have the capacity to have a business account just yet. However, we can ensure that your donations will be received by the children. Donations distribution will be documented and posted on this blog.

Is there a minimum amount for donation?
No, we believe that donations should not cause hardships for the donors, and that anyone should be able to donate if they wish to do so. You can donate as little as $1 or even less, as long as the payment platform you are using accepts it.

Do you take any fees for donation?
We do not take any fees out of the donations. However, we do use platforms such as PayPal, Wise, Venmo, Western Union which may take small fees. Small fees as such may be subtracted from the donations. The rest of the donations will go 100% for the children.

Am I able to give support other than financial donations?
While we love to help these children in any way, we do not yet have the capacity and infrastructure to accommodate non-financial donations just yet. We would love to expand in the future to accept any kinds of donations.
