About Us

Orphan Stories is a start-up organization that helps children who are orphaned and from unfortunate families. Our main focus is currently on little children under 10 years old in Indonesia, though there may be a few children that are above 10 years old.

Indonesia has a population of 273.8 million as of 2021. The birth rate in Indonesia is 2.19 births per woman, with 189 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births.

According to UNICEF, there are an estimated 4.4 Million orphans in Indonesia. However, the children that are portrayed on this blog, we know them personally. They live in the same neighborhoods as our friends and family. Some of them go to school together with our nieces and nephews. Donations are directly distributed to the guardians and the children themselves without anyone else involved. We will post updates and pictures as proof of distribution on this blog.

Due to the size of our organization, we do not have the capacity to have a business account yet. Although the donations go to our personal accounts, we do not take any fees out of the donations. However, we use platforms such as PayPal, Wise, Venmo, Western Union which may take small fees. Small fees as such may be subtracted from the donations. The rest of the donations will go 100% for the children.
